Productive Conflict: A New Approach to an Old Problem

Join the DE SHRM Chapter on March 13, 2018 at 5:30 PM for a dinner with Cindy Davidson, Director of Business Solutions with Corexcel for a presentation on "Productive Conflict: A New Approach to an Old Problem".

Learn a method how to change destructive feelings and behaviors into more productive responses and teach others in the workplace to manage conflict with others more effectively.  

According to Entrepreneur Magazine, the cost of workplace conflict costs US businesses $359 billion per year. One reason is that the typical manager spends 25 – 40% of their time dealing with conflict. Other costs include turnover, employee disengagement and sometimes legal fees. 

This session will explore how to identify what psychologists refer to as and “automatic thought” responses to conflict that can be destructive, derail conversations and destroy relationships. Through exercises, participants will discover how they react to conflict, how to choose more productive responses and how the method impacts the steps of resolving conflict.    

1.     Discover how they naturally respond to conflict.

2.     Begin to recognize their own destructive feelings and behaviors

3.     Learn a method for choosing more productive responses

4.     Create a more positive workplace by helping others manage conflict.

 

BIO

 

Cindy is Director of Business Solutions at Corexcel, a local Delaware company and one of the country’s leading e-learning and Wiley DiSC Partners. She assists organizations in finding solutions to attract, hire and develop leaders and teams. Cindy is chair of the Foundation and Sponsorship Committee of DESHRM and also serves on the Board of SOAR of Delaware, a 501 ( c ) (3) organization serving survivors of sexual abuse and assault.

Cindy received a Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Millersville University and a Certificate in Finance from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. She is certified in Integro Leadership’s Trust Inside Assessments, the PXT Select Hiring Assessment, accredited in Wiley’s Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team,  and is a certified facilitator for Everything DiSC , SPIN Selling and Customer Oriented Selling.   

Cindy has spent over 30 years training front line sales, customer service, managers and leaders in organizations large and small.
