Selection Criteria

Link to Speaker Proposal Form

We strive to offer a balanced program of educational sessions by selecting proposals that best fit within the framework of our conference. Each session will last 60 minutes; Mega sessions are 90 minutes. Members of the Programs Selection Committee will review all complete proposals. Selection criteria for proposals include:

Practical Application: Sessions conducted by consultants and practitioners that include practical, immediately applicable work tools will be given preference. The conference committee seeks presentations that will provide our attendees with information that will improve their effectiveness on the job.

Proven Speaking Ability: The conference committee seeks experienced speakers with proven speaking ability in front of mid-size to large audiences. Those with a track record of speaking and performing well at large conferences will be given preference.

Presentation Design and Format: The format builds engagement for the audience and the program facilitation will allow for exchanges among audience members and between audience members and the presenter.

Clarity of Presentation: The session description effectively matches the topic and session outline, and is relevant to the current business needs of HR.

Availability of SHRM and HRCI Recertification Credits: Sessions that have previously been approved for recertification credits by SHRM and/or HRCI will have an advantage.

Final selections will be made by the conference program organizers from those proposals accepted. Notification of acceptance will be sent on or about March 5th, 2018

PLEASE NOTE:  The Delaware SHRM State Conference has a tradition of using educational conference sessions as a platform for innovation in the field of human resource management. We look for contributors who are willing to share their expertise without expectation of payment in the spirit of networking.
