 One bad apple can spoil the bunch!  


Chronic negativity frequently starts with only one or two employees, but it can quickly infect an entire department. When this happens, the results are reduced productivity, damaged morale and turnover, so nip negativity in the bud.

The entire workforce is affected when just one employee spreads negativity and discontent. Don't let things go too far – learn how to combat negativity.


When confronted with employees who complain, criticize or try to stir up trouble, managers often feel frustrated and helpless. They may quickly assume that there is no way to change these "challenging personalities," so they just do their best to contain the damage. However, tolerating such harmful behaviors is definitely NOT the best strategy.  Never let an employee hold your organization hostage!

A member of SHRM since 1996, Diane has an extensive background in human resources management and employer compliance.  She currently leads the Human Capital Management practice at the Lyons Companies headquartered in Wilmington, DE.  Lyons HCM provides senior-level consultative expertise for HR functional audits, job description development/FLSA recommendations, compensation planning, targeted training and HR support.  Diane focuses on employer compliance.  She received her formal education at West Chester University, The Wharton School of Business and Villanova University.  Diane has worked in both union and non-union environments within municipal governments, as well as, private and publicly traded companies.  She serves as SHRM legislative conduit in Pennsylvania district 6.
