Join us on September 13 2016 at 5:30 pm for a DE SHRM Chapter dinner presentation at the Christiana HIlton. Valerie Jermusyk of the United Way of Delaware will discuss on the topic of "Improving the Pipeline within the Workplace."
This presentation will demonstrate to practitioners the opportunities for employers to connect and influence the future workforce while engaging employees with volunteer opportunities in the community.

Delaware Pathways is a statewide initiative to connect employers, educators, and students in an effort to improve the qualities and skills of students who will be tomorrow’s employees. Beginning in middle school, students become aware of careers and start to develop a pathway. In high school, students explore paths more deeply and learn about employment and post-secondary opportunities while being involved in work-based learning activities. Career awareness, exploration and immersion are the basis of Success Pathways and Roads to Careers (SPARC), an integral part of the Pathways initiative.

Success Pathways and Roads to Careers (SPARC) is a tool that is available to every public high school and middle school student in Delaware. It is a platform to connect employers, employees, students, educators and parents to resources and workforce development opportunities. It is an integral part of Delaware Pathways- an initiative to improve the workforce pipeline while engaging current employees in volunteer activities.

Employers need skilled employees, and employees need to be engaged in community activities. SPARC accomplishes both.
