Junior Achievement of Delaware will host a JA Career Challenge event on Tuesday September 24, 2019 at the Junior Achievement Campus in Wilmington and would like to invite SHRM associates to volunteer that day.
They aim to have approximately 50 underserved students participate who are facing adversity and obstacles to success, with a target on inner-city, low income students who will be applying to become a JA Centennial Student Colleague. This Student Colleagues program will include students running a Junior Achievement Company business during the school year and having internships and P/T job opportunities in the summer.
Selected Student Colleagues will be introduced at the October 2, 2019 Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame at Wilmington Country Club, and will be followed for one year of Junior Achievement interventions. Their stories will be told via video at the 2020 Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame.
Junior Achievement is looking for experienced HR professionals to volunteer on Tuesday, September 24 from 4:00 - 6:30 PM. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Junior Achievement directly here.
JA of Delaware is an extremely wonderful program in supporting our youth. If you can find the time to Volunteer just for the couple of hours on 9/24/2019 -- it will change your mindset and it is mentally stimulating to watch the young minds at work! - Micheal, JA Volunteer
