How long have you working in the HR field?
15 + years

What’s the best piece of advice you received along the way as you were building your career in HR?
"Want more for others than you do for yourself!"

Be very intentional in choosing this career - it's a special calling to care about others (individuals and organizations) professional growth and development. When you do, it is an amazingly rewarding experience.  Remain humble and a student of the profession. Become a member of SHRM - great way to network with other HR professionals and gain needed experience in the field of HR.

If you could live (and work) anywhere in the world, where would you go?
While I have traveled internationally and across the United States for business and pleasure, I feel I am exactly where I'm meant to be - in the here and now. I have the pleasure of living in PA while operating my business in the state of Delaware. Operating PrideStaff still affords me the opportunity to travel across the East Coast frequently and the country as needed.

Outside of your work in HR, what wakes you up in the morning?
The gift of starting fresh and clean every morning. The innate ability to be the creator and author of my experience every single day. The peace and joy of having my immediate and extended family in my life. This puts me in "Family Heaven" everyday!

What is a current issue you are passionate about?
So many young professionals, women executives and persons of color, struggle to find the right support and guidance as they navigate the professional and business landscape. My goal is to be able to contribute to this audience and provide the tools and resources to help them navigate with ease, confidence and clarity.

Anything else you'd like to share with us?
As a member of the Workforce Readiness and College Relations committee at DESHRM, I believe we have a lot of run way in attracting young professionals and emerging leaders to embrace HR as a career path. Let us collectively make HR more for the people and employees that we serve - friendlier, kinder and more accessible! Career in HR is selfless and yet incredibly rewarding!
