Individuals engaged in the field of human resources management, any full-time consultants involved in human resources services, or any individual certified by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) or Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI). Individuals outside the above categories who demonstrate a bona-fide interest in such HR work or engaging with HR professionals are also eligible for a General membership. General members may vote and hold elective office.

Individuals who meet the criteria of a General Member and are an active SHRM National member in good standing with an active SHRM National membership. You will be asked to provide your current SHRM National Membership Number upon joining.
Individuals who are full-time students in an HR-related discipline and preferably, are members of a student chapter affiliated with SHRM (if one exists). A individual working full-time does not qualify for a Student membership. Student membership is designed for individuals exploring HR and preparing to enter the profession. All Student Members are encouraged to maintain membership in SHRM. This membership must be approved by the Membership Chair. The Delaware SHRM Chapter provides active members who are unemployed at the time of the membership renewal a one-time opportunity to extend their membership for up to one year at no cost! SHRM believes this continued affiliation to our loyal members will help transitioning members stay current on the issues impacting the HR profession and provide them with the needed resources to assist them in their job search.
